Number by the Colors - Final Beta
tfmSoftware
jdwells@seasurf.com
Number by the Colors was conceived as an HTML coding helper. It is based on the assumption
that it would be desirable to be able choose a page background color or text color from a windows
color dialog box, and then have the corresponding hex number returned (ie #F298C3). Number by the
Colors displays a hex number for the color chosen and offers the option of copying the string to
the clipboard. From there it can be easily pasted into the HTML document (ie <FONT COLOR = #F298C3>A
line of text goes here.</FONT>).
Number by the Colors - Final Beta includes the option of saving a severa lists of colors with
a custom (user-chosen) name matched to the hex number of each color in the list. The list can be
saved before closing the application, and reloaded after opening the application. Each color list must be
saved with a unique name and the extension '.clr'. The ability to save color lists is based on the
assumption that one may wish to use certain color combinations throughout a web site and
will find it useful to name a custom color and pick it from a list for using again and again.
This version of Number by the Colors offers factoring of a chosen color so that several different
shades or intensities of a custom color can be added to a given list.
Number by the Colors - Final Beta is released as freeware, and is freely distributable. It's a
16-bit application that runs in either Windows 3.x or Windows 95. Unzip all the files to a directory
(ie. c:\nbcb25) of your choice and double click the file 'clrproj.exe' in file manager of explorer, or
create a shortcut or program item that point to it. Number by the Colors neither changes nor adds any files
in any other directory on your system. To uninstall, simply delete it's directory.
Other Final Beta features include: Choice of three color samples: one background and two text fields,
to see what colors will look like together, and a roll up feature that gets Number by the Colors out of the
way, as well as other features. It also includes a few bug fixes.
